Research Interests:
Throughout her career Dr. Shanock has engaged in extensive research involving perceived organizational support (POS). She has been interested in POS largely because there are a host of positive outcomes when a person feels valued and cared about by one’s work organization. Some of her recent work has focused on organizational support for leaders and its potential trickle down effects to subordinates, supportive supervision of Latinos in the workplace, and the role of leader behaviors in meetings. Dr. Shanock plans to continue to work in the employee well-being area, with future research focusing on employee wellness more generally, particularly the physical and emotional well-being that could come from working for a supportive organization as well as from interventions designed to improve employee wellness.
